You Can Help: Financial Contribution

COTS is a nonprofit corporation that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your donations to COTS are tax deductible. By supporting COTS you are supporting homeless families and adults in need.

It is your contributions that keep COTS going. Without the generosity of people like you, COTS would not exist. You can help us by making a financial contribution to our programs, or by volunteering.

Here are some ways to make a financial contribution:

By Check

Write a check today. Monthly, quarterly, annual, or one-time contributions to COTS are all tax deductible. Gifts can be sent to:

COTS

P.O. Box 1616

Electronic Funds Transfer

You can also direct COTS to deduct a certain amount from your checking or savings account each month, eliminating the need for stamps and envelopes. To learn more and sign up for electronic funds transfer, download a PDF version of our authorization form.

Designate COTS as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or pension plan.

Establish a creative and flexible living trust or a charitable remainder trust that provides assets to COTS, while maintaining full use and benefit of those assets during your lifetime.

Contribute cash, securities, real estate, personal property, insurance proceeds, or other valuable assets - particularly those that would cost you high capital gains tax – to COTS.

For a full description of these options, please refer to our Online Guide to Planned Giving .

However you give, your tax-deductible gift will be put to use right away to provide shelter and services to homeless children, families and adults. To learn more about how you can participate, call Ellen Kane at (802) 864-7402 or e-mail us at info-at-cotsonline.org
