Volunteer at COTS!
Volunteers play an important role at COTS and are part of our "extended family" providing support and assistance to individuals and families at COTS. Please note that COTS volunteers must be at least 18 years old. If you are younger than 18, there are many other ways you can help COTS. For some ideas, click here.
If you are 18 or older and wish to contribute by volunteering at COTS, the following is a list of our ongoing volunteer opportunities. We have many other volunteer opportunities as well -- just complete an application and note your interests, and we'll see if we can find a suitable opportunity for you!
 | Bring and serve lunch at the Daystation for 40 to 50 people.
| | Organize a drive for art supplies for the family shelter.
| | Provide transportation in the evenings to people in emergency shelter who wish to attend AA meetings in the Burlington area. Once a week would be great. Twice a week would be better.
| | Assist very low-income people with budgeting and bill paying, and managing their finances on extremely limited incomes; one-on-one, about twice a month, days, evenings or weekend, with some time available during banking hours.
| | Help elderly or disabled people with household organization and shopping, or provide transportation and assistance with errands and getting to doctors’ appointments.
|  | Create opportunities for us to speak to groups about homelessness in this community;
| | Organize a team for our winter Phonathon, November 26 - December 6, 2007 (8 nights, Monday thru Thursday).
| | Organize a team for the Annual COTS Walk, which happens the first Sunday in May.
| | Staff the front desk one morning a week in our administrative office, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Good people skills necessary. |
