THE 2009 COTS WALK

Join us on SUNDAY, MAY 3, to celebrate our 20th Walk and commemorate 20 years of community support and compassion!

That's when hundreds of individuals, families and teams will raise funds for COTS and walk a 3-mile route in and around downtown Burlington, visiting COTS shelters and programs along the way.

NEW THIS YEAR: Walkers will visit the new temporary shelter at the Eagles Club and COTS' new Housing Resource Center on North Street.

The COTS Walk is a fun and rewarding event for individuals and groups of all types. There's a "QUIZ QUEST" for kids along with face painting and other activities for the little ones, making this a great family event for all ages.

Walk with your business colleagues or school group, join with fellow church/synagogue members, form a team of your own, or sign up as an individual. We'll leave from Battery Park at 2 p.m. and return a short time later to music, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and other refreshments.

Last year the COTS Walk raised more than $186,000 for COTS programs and shelters. Thanks to generous contributions and in-kind donations from our sponsors, every dollar raised by Walkers goes directly to help homeless and marginally housed families and individuals served by COTS.

IT IS NOW TOO LATE TO REGISTER ONLINE. YOU CAN COLLECT PLEDGES IN THE FORM OF CHECKS PAYABLE TO COTS (Committee on Temporary Shelter) AND BRING THEM WITH YOU TO BATTERY PARK AND REGISTER THERE. PLEASE COME TO THE CHECK-IN TENT BETWEEN 1:15 AND 2 PM. THE WALK BEGINS AT 2. THANK YOU!
