It Was a Sunny Day in MANY Ways!!
What great weather we had on Sunday, May 6th, for the 18th Annual COTS Walk -- and what GREAT community spirit, too! THANKS TO EVERYONE who turned out to walk the walk, volunteer, eat Ben & Jerry's and Madhouse Munchies, listen to great music by The Willoughby's and Dr. Jazz and the Dixie Hotshots, and just bask in the glow of the sun and all those wonderful COTS supporters!!
Did you see the "new" Daystation, which had an "Extreme Makeover" thanks to Hickock & Boardman and the Vermont Realtors Assocation the weekend before the Walk? How about those homemade cookies from guests at the Firehouse Family Shelter, and all the personal stories and photos by guests and staff? And the decorative tidbits of information (courtesy of a great kid from BHS) lining the stairwell leading from the Daystation to Winooski Avenue? Clearly, COTS was decked out in style for this event, because WE enjoy it as much as the Walkers!
Preliminary totals indicate we are well on track toward our $175,000 goal (we aimed high this year!). By noon on Monday, the total stood at $136,500, with many outstanding pledges yet to arrive.
So, MANY, MANY thanks, from all of us at COTS to all of you. We are so grateful for your generosity, your goodwill, and your belief in the mission of COTS. We hope to see you at next year's Walk, which happens on Sunday, May 4. Mark your calendars!
